C-NLOPB Safety Forum
Offshore Safety

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) is holding its Spring C-NLOPB Safety Forum from May 14-15, 2012. The focus of this Forum is offshore safety. The C-NLOPB holds a Safety Forum twice a year and due to limited seating, attendance is by invitation only.

The purpose of the Forum is:

  • To provide an opportunity to exchange information among Canada- Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Stakeholders so that safety issues can be proactively identified and addressed in a forum of interested stakeholders
  • To highlight areas of particular concern that reduce risk of minor issues and major incidents to a level as low as reasonably practicable
  • To share safety information and best practices across the whole industry
  • To identify possible improvements and to assist the C-NLOPB in setting goals

A Forum Summary will be posted to the C-NLOPB Safety Forum website shortly after each event.

In organizing these Safety Forums, the C-NLOPB consulted the Advising Document for Offshore Helicopter Safety Inquiry (OHSI) Recommendation 25, which was developed by the OHSI Implementation Team.
