Our slogan, ‘Regulating for Future Generations’, speaks to our management philosophy of regulating the development of a finite resource for the maximum benefit of future Canadians, and particularly for future Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Overseeing the safety of offshore workers, protection of the environment and production activities for consistency with maximum recovery and good oilfield practice, is at the core of what we do.

Our website will provide information about safety offshore, environmental protection, exploration and production activities, industrial benefits and regulatory issues affecting the offshore oil and gas industry. This site will also be a valuable means of enabling the public to communicate with us. Visitors to our site are encouraged to send comments or questions by going to the ‘contact us' section.
